Obituary of Anna Margaret Ruse
Adrian – Mrs. Anna Margaret Ruse, age 92, of Adrian, passed away on October 30, 2019, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
She was born on April 14, 1927, to William and Margaret Johnson in Big Rapids, MI. On October 20, 1943, she married Vernon Claude Ruse in Big Rapids, MI. who was stationed at Rantool, Illinois at Chanute Air Force Base until September 24, 1945. They then moved to Muskegon, MI. Ann was an aide in 1947 at Hackley Hospital. Ann was a crossing guard for 4 years, 1960 – 1964. She graduated from Adult education in 1973, along with her daughter, Debbie from high school and her son, Jim from Seminary. She served as an election clerk for 15 years. Ann was employed by Oakridge Public Schools for 26 years. Ann was a charter member of Wolf Lake Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was social chairman for 20 years and treasurer, president of ladies’ mission, and secretary for Awana. She then became a member of Jibson Immanuel Baptist Church for 10 years until she moved to Adrian, MI, where she attended Faith Baptist Church.
Ann is survived by a brother, Ken and a sister, Eva, her children, Jim (Linda), Debbie (Dan), six grandchildren, James (Becky), Jeanna (Don), Julie (Mike), Jon (Katie), Jeremy (Meg), Jessica (Charles), and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vernon of 47 years, five brothers, four sisters, and a great grandson, Aaron.
Funeral services for Ann will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Jibson Immanuel Baptist Church, 7960 Evanston Ave., Muskegon, MI with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. A private committal performed by Ann’s brother, Ken Johnson, will be held in Mecosta Austin Cemetery, Stanwood, MI.
